one of many ways to make a random choice

paired-competition single-elimination with random selection



Round 1. Randomize order of 28 possible routes, pair up.
Round 2. Create pairs. Choose winner of each pair by random selection. Advance winners to next round.
Round 3. Create pairs. Choose winner of each new pair by random selection. Advance winners to next round.
Round 4. Randomly select one of seven contestants to automatically advance to Round 5. Create three pairs with remaining six contestants. Choose winner of each of the remaining three pairs by random selection. Advance winners to next round.
Round 5. Create final competition pair. Choose overall winner by random selection.
