Car place holders

If I lived in Sao Paulo, I would start collecting these heavy cement containers. They are used to reserve parking spots & block parking in front of drive ways. Although very crude and functional, these objects have a minimal aesthetic--if only because they are not standardized in their construction. Have you noticed homemade parking-spot blocks in use in your city--what are they like?

I've never seen these anywhere I've lived or been. The only "spot holder" I've used is my own body at risk of some rabid driver prepared to mow me down as my partner drives around the block. These are awesome, though... I'd like to see a row of them across a field.

Those are really great! Much more imaginative than the residents of Southie....when I lived in South Boston, it would snow a foot or 2 and whomever cleared a spot on the street for their car, would save it with a kitchen chair(No driveways in Boston). Wish I had a camera back then...it was funny as hell. I'd be walking home early from the bus stop on H Street and you'd see a line of chairs where there would normally be cars...
